Twelve babies every week are born with a heart condition, (approx 600 per year, or 1% of all live births), making this the most common congenital birth abnormality occurring in New Zealand children. @Heart (formerly Heart Children New Zealand) aims to provide timely and appropriate support for all those affected to help them cope with the day-to-day challenges of living with a childhood heart condition.
The services we provide include (but are not limited to) information and resources, education and training, counselling and psychological support, specialised equipment, camps, family matching, social affiliation and practical assistance such as hospital care packs, food packs, mobile phone vouchers and travel subsidies.
